Chef Demo
with Graham House | 4th & Swift
10:00 a.m. on 6/27
Chef Demos are sponsored by
Piedmont Hospital
Wanderlust doesn't begin to describe chef Graham House's culinary journey. He started out in Asheville and Atlanta, then decided to give Italy a try, working at a 140-year old kitchen in a small town outside of Lake Como. After a year, he headed back to the states and served as the opening sous chef under chefs Jay Swift and Chris Hall at 4th & Swift, where he continued to develop his love for local and seasonal. Next he took that passion across the country to work with California veg, cooking at renowned restaurants in Napa and San Francisco with a focus on using not just the whole animal, but also the whole vegetable. Lucky for us, his travels have brought him back to Atlanta and 4th & Swift, where he's been putting his spin on the menu since May. Join him under the demo tent this Saturday for a fresh look at what to do with your summer market haul!

Tips from Piedmont Better Living...
Here, from our partners at Piedmont Hospital, is a quick article on just how great raw veggies are for you. Bonus: they taste wonderful, too (especially PRFM's farm-fresh heirloom varieties).

Of note...
Peachtree Road Farmers Market is CLOSED on JULY 4th due to the Peachtree Road Race. Good luck to everyone participating!

Chef Demo
with Angus Brown of Lusca
10:00 a.m. on 6/6
Chef Demos are sponsored by
Piedmont Hospital
After making an indelible mark on the industry with Octopus Bar, a celebrated post-shift spot among our city's chefs, Angus Brown's newest concept was one of the most highly anticipated openings last year. And rightly so. Lusca has since been named as a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation's Best New Restaurant category, included in GQ's list of "America's 25 Outstanding Restaurants," and listed in bon appetit's "America's 50 Best New Restaurants." Angus was also named one of Cooking Light's "Trailblazing Chefs" and was nominated for Food & Wine's "People's Best New Chef." He's trained in French, Italian, and Asian cuisine, and has researched and cooked his way through Japan and Vietnam. Lucky for us, he's settled in his hometown of Atlanta, where he's committed to using local ingredients and serves on the chef advisory board of Atlanta's Community Farmers Markets. You won't want to miss this Saturday's demo with one of our city's most creative chefs!

Mother’s Day weekend is here. Don’t worry, PRFM has got you covered. Pick up some flowers and jewelry plus all the fixings (strawberries, anyone?) for a super-impressive brunch that any mama is sure to love—almost as much as she loves you.

Chef Demo
with Zach Meloy of BETTER HALF

Chef Demos are sponsored by
Piedmont Hospital
Chef Zach Meloy is a native Georgian who has experience in kitchens across the Southeast (with chefs like Gerry Klaskala, Jay Swift, and Frank Stitt) as well as in Latin America (including Costa Rica, where he met his "better half," Cristina). In 2011, Zach and Cristina launched their popular supper club, PushStart Kitchen, which gained such a following that the couple decided to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant (funded on Kickstarter by their many fans). At the end of 2013, they opened BETTER HALF, recently named by Garden & Gun as one of the five most exciting new restaurants in the South. Check out this week's demo and see exactly what all the buzz is about!

Master Gardeners Info Tent

Every Saturday, rain or shine

What to expect at PRFM...

...open through December 13th, so don't forget your local farmers, food-makers, and artists when it comes time for...Halloween (we have a parade for that), Thanksgiving, and prepping for Hanukkah, Christmas, and those cold winter months when you'll be glad you froze/canned/stocked up on your favorite veggies and other treats.

...weekly Chef Demos! Check out the city's best chefs, nominated for demos by our very own market farmers (in other words, these ladies and gents are experts at cooking local and helping you to do the same). Every Saturday at 10:00 a.m., sponsored by Country Financial. Take a look at the roster and other upcoming events here.

...amazing farmers and vendors who all grow, raise, or make their own goods (no resellers here). That makes PRFM the largest producer-only farmers market in the state. See a full list of our farmers, growers, producers, and artists here.

Also...

...live music (local artists, of course).
...kids' activities.
...the coolest dogs in town.
...and YOU!

Chef Demo with Nick Leahy
of Saltyard
10:00 a.m. on 5/17
Chef Demos are sponsored by
COUNTRY Financial
Chef Nick Leahy is one worldly chef. He was born in Bermuda and grew up in England before moving to Atlanta in elementary school. With a mother who's half-French, he was exposed early on to delicacies like duck confit and knew even then that he wanted to be a chef. His culinary career has included stints at Food Studio, Two Urban Licks, Stats, and Parish, among others. But it was in 2011 that he and his wife really took an international leap of faith, traveling (and eating around) Europe and Africa for six months, then living in London for a year. In London, Leahy served as executive chef at Daylesford Organic, a restaurant that sources ingredients from its own farm. He brought back from abroad an even richer global perspective and a strengthened commitment to all things local and organic. Just down the road from PRFM, he opened his own restaurant, Saltyard, almost a year ago. Stop by the demo tent this Saturday to catch up with the chef!

A market any mother would love

This week at PRFM...
Mother’s Day weekend is here. Don’t worry, PRFM has got you covered. Pick up some flowers and jewelry plus all the fixings (strawberries and asparagus, maybe?) for a super-impressive brunch that any lady is sure to love almost as much as she loves you.

Chef Demo with Chris Hall
of Local Three
10:00 a.m. on 5/10
Chef Demos are sponsored by
COUNTRY Financial
We've said it before, but it's worth saying again: Chris Hall is good people. The self-taught chef is managing partner of Local Three, a founder of The Giving Kitchen, and a partner of Staplehouse (the upcoming restaurant is his fourth Atlanta venture). Stop by the demo tent this Saturday to check out a chef that we're sure makes mama proud.

Master Gardeners
These experts will be on hand to share tips and help you grow your garden! Get advice on how to use our farmers' transplants to create or add to your veggie patch. Got a garden question? Go ahead, let them help you identify that mystery plant or figure out why your azalea just won’t bloom.

Save the date!
Our 2nd Annual Sunday Supper is June 22 at 5:30 pm at The Cathedral of St. Philip. Featuring ten chefs cooking their take on "Sunday supper," plus local breweries, wine, live music, and an outstanding auction. Tickets are $70 and available online here (create an account and choose the "make a payment" option). Watch for more details!

Time for stocking and snacking!

This week at PRFM...

Only two weeks of market time left to stock up for winter and buy your holiday treats! You won't want to miss our last chef demo—with the queen of Atlanta cuisine, chef Anne Quatrano (Bacchanalia, Floataway Café, Star Provisions, Provisions To Go, Quinones at Bacchanalia, and Abattoir). Our original farm-to-table restaurant visionary, this year Quatrano also published her first cookbook, Summerland: Recipes for Celebrating with Southern Hospitality. She'll be cooking from the book during the demo and signing copies afterwards (Perfect gift for your favorite foodie? Check).

Next Saturday...

Holiday Artist Market
December 14th
(look for us inside)
PRFM moves indoors for the last market day of the season, complete with our holiday market of over 30 artists! Give local this year, with choices from fine foods like bacon, hot chocolate, and artisanal jams to crafts from local artists (think handmade baskets, wood and glass creations, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, felt, scarves, silks, kids’ items, and more!). Just can’t decide? PRFM has gift cards, too. So, bring the family for some good food and special shopping this holiday. We’ll see you inside the Cathedral of St. Philip!
