Stop by and see him this Saturday at market, then plan to visit him at Lure, where it's patio season year-round!

Every Saturday, rain or shine

What to expect at PRFM...

...open through December 13th, so don't forget your local farmers, food-makers, and artists when it comes time for...Halloween (we have a parade for that), Thanksgiving, and prepping for Hanukkah, Christmas, and those cold winter months when you'll be glad you froze/canned/stocked up on your favorite veggies and other treats.

...weekly Chef Demos! Check out the city's best chefs, nominated for demos by our very own market farmers (in other words, these ladies and gents are experts at cooking local and helping you to do the same). Every Saturday at 10:00 a.m., sponsored by Country Financial. Take a look at the roster and other upcoming events here.

...amazing farmers and vendors who all grow, raise, or make their own goods (no resellers here). That makes PRFM the largest producer-only farmers market in the state. See a full list of our farmers, growers, producers, and artists here.

Also...

...live music (local artists, of course).
...kids' activities.
...the coolest dogs in town.
...and YOU!

His Atlanta journey has included La Tavola Trattoria and Ecco before heading down the road to Buckhead for St. Cecilia, where he delivers tasty coastal European fare. Stop by this Saturday to see chef Richards' summer tips and tricks!

Special Guest
Holy Comforter Middle School Arts Program
Also this Saturday, check out The Friendship Center Arts Program, who will have representatives on hand to share about this initiative at Holy Comforter Church. The arts program offers a supportive studio environment that fosters creativity, self-direction, and mutual encouragement. A part-time arts director and a corps of volunteers offer skilled one-on-one instruction in painting, ceramics, woodworking, fiber arts, photography, and stained glass. Instruction caters to all ability levels, and the artists may sell their work at church and community art festivals. This program, with its individualized instruction, its freedom to pursue creative projects, and the opportunity for the artists to show and sell their work, instills a sense of confidence and self-worth.

Two Ryans = One Epic Demo

Chef Demo with
Ryan Hidinger & Ryan Smith
of Staplehouse
10:00 a.m. on 11/9
Chef Demos are sponsored by
COUNTRY Financial
These two Ryans are changing the way Atlanta (and the world) looks at restaurants. As co-chefs and partners for the highly anticipated Staplehouse, set to open in spring 2014, they’re not only creating a neighborhood restaurant focused on locally produced ingredients—they’re also creating a nonprofit that will benefit from the good food they serve at said restaurant. Staplehouse will be a subsidiary of The Giving Kitchen Initiative, an organization they’ve built with partners Jen and Kara Hidinger to assist the Atlanta restaurant industry with unanticipated financial hardship. In their own words, The Giving Kitchen will “help pay excessive medical and other expenses for the people who anonymously and graciously nourish so many of us during our dining experiences and who may find themselves in a time of need.” Hidinger and Smith are perfectly positioned to lead such an effort, since they’re two of our city’s best “nourishers,” Between them they’ve got experience from Bacchanalia (both Ryans), Floataway Café and Muss & Turner’s (Hidinger, who, with his wife Jen, also pioneered the supper club scene in our city), and Canoe, Restaurant Eugene, Holeman & Finch Public House, and Empire State South (Smith). All that’s to say, this is going to be one epic demo, y’all. Don’t miss it.

Final 2012 Chef Demo
with Peter Dale of The National
10:00 a.m. on 12/8

Chef Demos are sponsored by

Whole Foods Market

Y'all know Hugh Acheson. Meet Hugh's Executive Chef from his Athens restaurant The National—Peter Dale. No, really, you should come meet him this Saturday. A UGA grad, Peter decided to pursue his culinary passion shortly after college. With family heritage from Ecuador and Greece, he had experienced a diverse array of cuisines and was ready to get his start in the field. He began as an apprentice at Hugh's Five & Ten restaurant, with plans to attend culinary school thereafter. Instead, he chose travel as his education and spent time in Europe (mostly Spain) where he found further inspiration and honed his skills. In 2007, Dale and Hugh opened The National, combining their interests in cooking, travel, and food politics. The daily-changing menu features ingredients from local farms and pairs the seasons of Georgia with the flavors of Spain, France, North Africa, Greece, the eastern Mediterranean, and Middle East. This weekend you don't have to travel around the world, or even to Athens, to get a taste for Peter's fantastic dishes—you just have to stop by Peachtree Road Farmers Market for our last demo of the season!

Chef Demos are sponsored by
Whole Foods Market
Kick off your December in the finest fashion—by learning from our city’s best (Bacchanalia wasn’t just named by Zagat as Atlanta's top restaurant for the 18th consecutive year for no reason, y’all). You won’t want to miss tips and tastes from Atlanta’s own farm-to-table visionary, Anne Quatrano. Together with her husband, award-winning chef Clifford Harrison, she operates six of Atlanta’s most celebrated restaurants including Bacchanalia, Floataway Café, Star Provisions, Provisions To Go, Quinones at Bacchanalia, and Abattoir. Her love for local, organic produce began at an early age, coming down from New England to visit her mother’s family farm Summerland, near Cartersville, Georgia. Anne is now the fifth generation to live on the farm and many of her restaurants’ ingredients are grown right there. Her meticulous attention to detail and pride in her ingredients results in true perfection. Join Anne this Saturday and learn how to wow all of your holiday guests!

His culinary background includes training in New Orleans at Fairmont Hotel, graduating from The Culinary Institute of America in New York, working at the original Le Cirque under Chef Daniel Boulud, as well as stints in Basel, Switzerland and Las Vegas.
