Turmeric Turnips served on Pine Street Country Ham


2lbs Turnips, Sliced Thin or Grated
1Tbs Turmeric, Zested
2 tsp Fine Sea Salt
½ cup Distilled Water
½ lb Pine St. Market Country Ham


Mixing Bowl
Quart Glass Jar
Plastic Wrap
Small Plate


  1. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl
  2. Macerate well (In food preparation, maceration is softening or breaking into pieces using a liquid.)
  3. Place in jar
  4. Cover with plastic wrap
  5. Poke holes in wrap for good air flow
  6. Place on a "catch" plate
  7. Place in kitchen pantry, somewhere dark and cool for 5-7 days
  8. Enjoy the fermentation process
  9. Remove from jar
  10. Place in a plastic container with a lid
  11. Serve as part of a charcuterie board over Pine St. Market Country Ham or add to sandwich or burger.
