2024 PRFM Auction

Goes Live Nov. 1 - Closes 9pm Nov. 10

2024 auction goals

The PRFM improves the quality of life for our customers by providing fresh and nutritious food directly from farmers and producers in the region. Through our thriving, open-air market, PRFM empowers small-scale farmers in our region by connecting food producers with informed food consumers.

With the proceeds from the auction, Our main goal for 2025 is to purchase fresh fruits and veggies to donate to the local food pantry from our farmers.

  • During the 2023 Season, we spent close to $31,000 and purchased 11,850 pounds of fresh produce to donate to our neighbors.

In addition, we hope to achieve the following goals:

Increase access to fresh, local food

Intown Cares (Local Food Pantry)
In addition to serving as a collection location for dried goods for Intown Cares (Local Food Pantry), our customers have the option to “Buy One for Your Neighbor” by purchasing fresh fruits and veggies from our farmers each Saturday during market hours and leaving it in the collection bin. Last season, we expanded this program to use our sponsorship money to purchase leftover produce from our farmers at the end of each market to donate to the food pantry. During the 2023 Season, we have spent close to $31,000 and purchased 11,850 pounds of fresh produce to donate. We would love to continue this program next season.

Wholesome Wave Georgia
Provide access to local, fresh fruits & veggies to food insecure neighbors through one year of partnership with Wholesome Wave Georgia's Fresh 4 Less program. Every SNAP/food stamp dollar with no maximum spent at our market becomes $2 for the recipient to spend on fruits and veggies.

Enhance children’s programming and education

Our children’s programming is an integral part of our market’s mission to engage the community with the local food system. For 2024, we would like to implement the Power of Produce (POP) program, which provides a fun opportunity for children to learn about food through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, POP Club kids receive vouchers to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions.

Develop food justice initiatives

Funds from the last three years have allowed us to extend opportunities at PRFM to Black farmers and food producers from the region. Your donation this year could help us to continue to provide scholarships that cover market fees and other expenses for these vendors.

PRFM management joined Farmers Market Coalition (FMC) and creators of the Anti-Racist Farmers Market Toolkit for a 6-month deep dive on applying anti-racist principles to our farmers market.

Additionally, in Georgia, over 1.4 million people are considered food-insecure and receive federal nutrition assistance, including SNAP benefits. The high cost and low accessibility of fresh foods leave these households with limited options to feed their families. Food insecurity is linked to poverty, obesity, and other diet-related illnesses. Through our partnership with Wholesome Wave Georgia’s Fresh 4 Less program, every SNAP/food stamp dollar up to $50 spent at our market becomes two dollars for the recipient to spend on fruits and veggies. So far in 2023, over $6,500 in SNAP benefits was spent on fresh, local food at our market. We set aside funds to cover the costs of those matching dollars and your donation could help us reach more people in need.

Support market operations

We would like to continue using market management software, which will help us eliminate paperwork, streamline our management tasks, and provide features that will help us grow and sustain our market. Operating costs span employee wages, increased security for traffic control, paying musicians, and basic needs, like duct tape.
