The PRFM Increases access to fresh, local food
By supporting the local food pantry, Intown Cares
in a number of ways listed below

1.) In 2022 we started the program โ€œRescued Crops to Feed Our Neighborsโ€.

Weekly the Market buys crops from our farmers at the end of market to donate to a local food pantry, Intown Cares.

This program provides access to local, fresh fruits and veggies to food insecure neighbors to supplement the shelf-stable groceries they receive from the pantry weekly. It also supports our farmers with additional income and cuts food waste by keeping unsold crops out of the compost bin.

During the 2024 Season, we spent $33,891.25 and purchased 17,492 pounds of fresh produce that were donated to feed our neighbors at Intown Cares.

2.) Serving as a Food Drive Drop off location. Bring donations to Info Booth on Saturdays 8:30am-12:00pm.

3.)Customers buy fresh produce from our farmers every Saturday at market to donate.

4.) Hygiene Kit Builds at Market for those experiencing homelessness
